THE ENGLISH SOUTHEAST SEA

Bodies of water evoke a type of energy, something romantic and healing about the sound of the waves crashing, the salty air, and the force of the sea that makes us feel at peace with ourselves.

Brighton beach is one of those places, a coastal town in southeast England where remains of piers that dated back to 1860 are still standing, witnessing day-in and day-out our everyday existence.

Ever since I was a kid, I dreamed of visiting the English seaside in the wintertime, an image on my mind of this region, a region that can be brutal, dramatic, and stormy, and a place where only a type of character can endure to live. The emotion you experience from such places is feeling exposed and raw. Those conditions bring out of you the understanding that there is a higher power or energy out there bigger than oneself.

Most of us are constantly chasing blue skies, warmth, and peaceful oceans, but the beauty in this area forces you to go deep within.

On the other side of this sea is the republic of France., as a creative person, I am constantly in the search for places likes this, parts of the world that hold invaluable history and serve as a reminder of the beauty in the storm, the context, the depth, and the appreciation we need.

Ultimately, what good is it to always have sunny days and no rain, clear skies, and no clouds? We need to experience and find the beauty in the storm.
